I am delighted to read that Palm Beach Gardens is about to build a new clubhouse for its golf course and that it is going to be under budget. I am likewise happy for North Palm Beach golfers, who are also about to get a new clubhouse. Ditto for the PGA National course golfers, who are getting an upgrade for their clubhouse.
We recently visited the Palm Beach Par 3’s recently built beautiful golf course clubhouse, and have heard how nice the new clubhouse is at the Lake Worth Municipal Golf Course. The Delray Beach city golf course also has a recently built attractive clubhouse serving the community.
Unfortunately, the West Palm Beach Municipal Golf Course is still languishing by using the trailer, which substitutes for an adequate clubhouse, with no real push to build a new one by this City Commission in spite of overwhelming support for one from citizens.
I read about the “tight” budget the city has every year. Yet other cities can find the funds or the resources to go ahead with this amenity. The West Palm Beach Municipal Golf Course is an amenity that helps draw visitors to the city and needs a facility that can also serve the needs of the citizens of its south end.
With a clubhouse, the increase in users of the course and the clubhouse would enable it to repay the financing.
